"We picked the hotel for its location, located between Glengarriff and Bantry and within comfortable driving distance of Baltimore, Kenmare and Killarney. It proved to be the perfect base for exploring West Cork and beyond. It’s a family-run hotel and this shows in the level of personal attention and of repeat visitors. Pets are allowed in room, and there are a number of designated pet friendly ground floor rooms. The property is very well maintained and very comfortable, with a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The standard of the rooms and food were both excellent. Can also highly recommend Lorge Chocolatier, Bonane National School (on N71 between Glengarriff and Kenmare). "
"We stayed here in August 2015 , selecting the hotel as a base to explore West Cork, and the Sheep's Head and Beara Peninsulas - for which it is perfect. This is an family owned and run hotel in the mode of a rather elegant and very comfortable country house. This was our first time here but it was obvious that many of the guests were repeat offenders but enjoying their sentences. Pet accommodation is in your own room, and a selection of rooms on the ground floor seem to have been allocated for this purpose ( I approve). My wife and I liked every aspect of the hotel and the area and I would give it 5 Barks out of 5, but perhaps 4.5 stars due only to the absence of a full bar. It is unfair to single out a specific food item but especial mention has to be made of their home-made marmalade - try it and be astounded ! "
