Bono Fide Hotel
"We stayed here in August 2015 , selecting the hotel as a base to explore West Cork, and the Sheep's Head and Beara Peninsulas - for which it is perfect. This is an family owned and run hotel in the mode of a rather elegant and very comfortable country house. This was our first time here but it was obvious that many of the guests were repeat offenders but enjoying their sentences. Pet accommodation is in your own room, and a selection of rooms on the ground floor seem to have been allocated for this purpose ( I approve). My wife and I liked every aspect of the hotel and the area and I would give it 5 Barks out of 5, but perhaps 4.5 stars due only to the absence of a full bar. It is unfair to single out a specific food item but especial mention has to be made of their home-made marmalade - try it and be astounded ! "
She barked for Kilkee!
"We stayed here for a week, in an area and in a hotel that I had never tried before. The hotel is a very comfortable and friendly 3* , pet accommodation is in your room and these are well maintained and comfortable. Everything going on in town is within easy strolling distance , the huge beach is directly behind, and there was no night time noise. The dining was popular with locals and amongst the better offers available in Kilkee. I loved the town but was literally blown away by the Loop Head peninsula. This was a really nice break and our doggie has it on her list to return to the Stella Maris."
Top Dog for me !
"I have now stayed in the Lough Inagh enough times to be able to recognise that 'You again! ' look in their eyes as I bruise through their door. But that won't stop me coming back, or recommending this place to pet loving travellers. The hotel is situated in a beautiful place, with access to both Connemara touring routes and the Western Walkway. I tend to go in Winter or Spring and why would you ever leave those lovely wood fires, the cosy reception rooms and bar, and the best food I have experienced in the area. This is a family run hotel in all the best ways. They are extremely pet friendly , with pets accommodated within your room. I think that specific rooms are allocated to pet owners (as we usually get the same room) but these are excellent rooms with lake views etc etc. At times of lower occupancy ( and perhaps at others?) we can bring our doggie down into the public areas and enjoy a quiet pint with the sacred one lying across my feet. Bliss."
